US fest to screen Iranian 'Umbra'

Iranian short film 'Umbra' has been set to be screened at the 27th edition of the St. Louis Film Festival in the US.

Directed by Saeed Jafarian, ‘Umbra’ is to compete at the US film event as Iran representative.

‘Umbra’ is about a young woman who realizes a few minutes after midnight that she is with no one. Worried, she goes out in the darkness of the streets.

The short film has so far succeeded to attend some remarkable film festivals all around the world, including Cinéfondation section of the 71st Cannes Film Festival, the 2018 Vila do Conde Film festival in Portugal, the 17th Silhouette Film Festival in France, and the 42nd Toronto International Short Film Festival in Canada.

The St. Louis International Film Festival is an annual film festival in St. Louis, Missouri, which has been running since 1992. The coordinating organization changed its name to "Cinema St. Louis" in 2003. The festival screens approximately 300 films over a period of 10 days during November.

The 2018 edition of the event is slated for November 1-11 in Saint Louis, the US.
